    The Michigan History Museum offers a walk through Michigan's rich past, from the time of the state's earliest peoples to the late 20th century. It is located in the Michigan Library and Historical Center Building at: 

    702 W. Kalamazoo St.

    Per DTMB Procedure 0210.11, effective Monday, August 23, 2021, all visitors to the Michigan Library and Historical Center building must wear a face mask. View the full face mask policy [PDF], which includes exemptions.

    The Michigan History Museum hours are: 

    • Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • ​Sundays, 1 to 5 p.m.

    Beginning Sept. 7, 2021, the museum is open Monday through Thursday for pre-scheduled school and group tours. Learn more about school and group visits, including scheduling information.

    Admission is free to all on Sundays.
