Attorney General Duties

  • The Attorney General is the state's top lawyer and law enforcement official, protecting and serving the people and interests of Michigan through a broad range of duties.

    The Attorney General's responsibilities include safeguarding the public from violent criminals, helping victims of crime, leading the fight against human trafficking and opioid abuse, preserving Michigan's spectacular natural resources, protecting consumers and addressing illegal business practices.

    By law, the Attorney General cannot provide legal advice to private citizens.

    You are hereby notified that on 09/23/2021, pursuant to MCL 333.7521, Michigan State Police - CHIEF Task Force seized the following described property:  $26,000.00 that was located during a traffic stop inside of a purse on I-75 near LaPlaissance Rd. in Monroe, Michigan.

    If you claim an interest in the currency within twenty (20) days of the first publication of this notice you must file a written claim with the Michigan State Police - Second District Headquarters 3050 W. Grand Blvd Suite I-700 Detroit, Michigan 48202 Attention to D/Lt. Joe Cavanaugh 810-965-5025.

    Failure to file a written claim will result in the forfeiture of the seized items to the Michigan State Police - CHIEF Task Force.
